Contrasts original release: (Columbia)1951 Gallodoro Album (Merri)1958 19 tracks on ONE CD! INFINITE GALLODORO
Double CD, contains a disc of never-before-released remastered recordings of the 1940's through 1960's.
As well as a recording project recorded at the West Kortright Center, in NY in the summer of 2004 (at the tender young age of 91!) A MOMENT IN TIME
The Southern flair, credited to Al Gallodoro's Birmingham and New Orleans roots and the Mediterranean influence of his Sicilian heritage gives this 1969 live performance a unique spark. At the pinnacle of clarinet technique, Gallodoro achieves a seemingly impossible flow of double and triple tonguing, with phrasing that is embellished in a highly ornate, yet understandable style. This melodically dazzling evening on saxophone and clarinet will engage the listener with its jazz standards as well as ethnic pieces.
OUT OF NOWHERE
Recorded in Holland in 1999 with the Beau Hunks, a premier Holland saxophone quartet retro-jazz group. Basta Records.
CAFE LENA
Recorded with piano accompanist JoAnn Chmielowski in Saratoga Springs, New York on May 31, 2003, this captures the essence of Al's live performances today, as his art of improvisation reaches new heights!
SARASOTA SAXES
AL'S HOTTEST POST 2000 PLAYING! Recorded in July of 2003 in Sarasota with then 16 year old tenor saxophone sensation, Tucker Antell.
DAY BREAK
The goal of this CD is to bring the lyrical sound of the saxophone back to mainstream jazz. Over 80 years ago, Al Gallodoro developed his unique sound from emulating the human voice.
