The Southern flair, credited to Al Gallodoro's Birmingham and New Orleans roots and the Mediterranean influence of his Sicilian heritage gives this 1969 live performance a unique spark.  At the pinnacle of clarinet technique, Gallodoro achieves a seemingly impossible flow of double and triple tonguing, with phrasing that is embellished in a highly ornate, yet understandable style.  This melodically dazzling evening on saxophone and clarinet will engage the listener with its jazz standards as well as ethnic pieces.

The goal of this CD is to bring the lyrical sound of the saxophone back to mainstream jazz. Over 70 years ago, Al Gallodoro developed his unique sound from emulating the human voice.
